Courses are offered at the branch campus of Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL).
Internships and community service are organized at various NGOs and humanitarian organizations.
Students can enroll in up to 15 credits per semester.
Most courses are 3 credits.
Internships are 3 to 6 credits, depending on time commitment.
Community service is not awarded credit unless done as an internship.
Program transcripts are issued by USIL or KEI's university of record (accredited in the USA).

History of the Inca Civilization (English)
The course provides knowledge and information of the prehistory of civilizations in the Central Andean Region with critical and updated opinion about the studied historical periods and the great Inca Civilization.
Contemporary Society and Culture of Peru (English)
Peruvian society has undergone a series of historical transformations enriched by Andean, Occidental and Amazonian traditions.
These transformations will be addressed from a historical, anthropological, and sociological perspective.
Biodiversity of Peru (English)
Since Peru has a mega biodiversity which enables it to be among the “Top 12” most biodiverse countries in the world, this theoretical course will mainly focus on developing skills to analyze and value the components of biodiversity, identifying its potentials and the tools to make this sustainable use and conservation possible.
Latin American Literature (Spanish)
This theoretical-practical-oriented course develops students skills in order to read critically and value Latin American Literature textbooks through detailed analysis of poetry and novels. Open to students in/with Advanced Spanish.
Photography in Cuzco (English)
Theoretical and practical course geared toward learning the photographic production process, including the study of visual treatment, lighting and mastery of digital photography resources.
Art & Design in Cuzco (English)
The course is aimed at critical analysis of the history of Cusco's art from a visual perspective, creating new spaces for reflection.
Artistic expressions from the different periods of its cultural development are studied and interpreted, within the framework of their particular contexts of time and space.
The course work is geared toward distinguishing constants and technical, stylistic and plastic variants that characterize the different cultural periods, establishing general guidelines for analysis and assessment.
In addition, the history of Cusco's architecture, painting and sculpture are covered through analysis of the most significant works.
In the second part of the course, there will be guided visits in order to experience history through the different artistic expressions found in this imperial city.
Architecture & Urban Planning in the Andes (Spanish)
The course is intended to introduce students to the general, quantitative and qualitative aspects of the evolution of architecture and urban planning in the Andes in South America. We will cover the aspects of territorial management under Andean societies and its development through the height of its glory under the Inca culture.
Elementery Spanish
This course aims to give students the necessary abilities for quick and effective written / oral communication in common situations, through the development of a basic vocabulary that allows them to face diverse situations, such as giving information about their family, work and place where they live under different circumstances, in the present and in the past.
Intermediate Spanish
This Spanish course is intended to provide students with the abilities needed for communicating rapidly and effectively in common situations, both verbally and in writing, developing a basic vocabulary that enables a student to handle situations such as giving information about the press, expressing feelings and carrying on conversations in different places, both in the past and present.
Advanced Spanish
This Spanish course is intended to provide students with the abilities needed for communicating rapidly and effectively in common situations, both verbally and in writing, developing a basic vocabulary that enables a student to handle situations such as giving information about his/her family, work and place of residence, both in the past and present.
The summer program in Cuzco focuses on Spanish language and Andean culture.
The currculum combines Spanish language with cultural field trips in the Cuzco region.
Students interested in business combined with Spanish language should consider the program in Lima, Peru.

Internships and community service are available during the semester.
Students are placed with local and international NGOs and humanitarian organizations.
Internships require a minimum commitment of 120 hours (3 credits), term paper and regular meetings with an internship supervisor.
Community service does not require a minimum commitment; schedules are more flexible than for internships.
There is no credit for community service.
Students who need academic credit should consider the internship option.
Placement is based on personal interest, availability of positions and proficiency in Spanish.
A limited number of positions is available in English.
Students who speak Spanish at the intermediate or advanced level have more options.
