KEI Updates: Winter & Spring 2007 Application Deadlines

The deadline for KEI's winter 2007 programs is October 20th & spring 2007 programs is November 20th. Students interested in studying abroad in Belgium, Spain, Italy, Thailand and/or Mexico are urged to apply before deadline. Students should inform KEI of their intention to apply as soon as possible to ensure housing availability.

Why is study in Switzerland?  
Switzerland is the ideal location to study abroad. It is a vibrant county right in the middle of Western Europe .  It is the perfect location for students studying business, law, diplomacy, tourism and hospitality management.   Switzerland is rich in cultural diversity as demonstrated by its French, German and Italian influences. Switzerland is best known for its financial institutions, fine cheeses, chocolate, watch-making industry, and its breathtaking sceneries.  

Leysin is an educational and recreational center of Switzerland , offering a wide range of professional, cultural, sporting and recreational attractions. This Alpine village is conveniently located near the larger Swiss cities of Montreux, Lausanne and Geneva - home to the United Nations, World Trade Organization, International Red Cross, Nestle Corporation and other international organizations. Rail service, on campus, connects to the main transportation hubs in Europe . Milan , Venice , Lyon , Marseille, Nice, Paris , Frankfurt , Munich , Heidelberg , Salzburg , Innsbruck and Liechtenstein are within a 6 hour train ride.

Schiller International University was founded in 1964 with campuses in the United States, UK, France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Schiller integrates an international perspective into an American educational model. Student have the opportunity to at different campuses during the course of their degree program. English is the language of instruction all all Schiller campuses. 

The students body also represents more than 50 countries. In the News: Senate Resolution 308

Senate Approves Resolution to Designate 2006 as the "Year of Study Abroad"

According to a 2002 American Council on Education poll, 79 percent of people in the United States agree that students should have a study abroad experience sometime during college, but only 1 percent of students from the United States currently study abroad each year;

(1) designates 2006 as the `Year of Study Abroad';

(2) encourages secondary schools, institutions of higher learning, businesses, and government programs to promote and expand study abroad opportunities; and

(3) encourages the people of the United States to--

(A) support initiatives to promote and expand study abroad opportunities; and

(B) observe the `Year of Study Abroad' with appropriate ceremonies, programs, and other activities.
