Study Down Under, in Tasmania
Are you dreading winter, commuting to classes in the cold weather, spending another term on campus? Then study abroad where it’s summer, where the air is the cleanest and clearest on earth – in the beautiful island state of Tasmania, Australia. Tasmania is truly a one-of-a-kind destination: with flora and fauna found nowhere else on earth, with one-fifth of the island designated as a World Heritage Area, with its rich and lively cultural capital of Hobart, and with a world-class University. This is a place where you can study and hang out with real Australians (not tourists), while taking discipline-specific classes and participating in a rewarding (and resume building) internship. KEI offers 4 programs at the University of Tasmania, one of the oldest and most respected universities in Australia: (1) Visual & Performing Arts Program, (2) Science, Math & Engineering Research Program, (3) Australian Studies and Humanities Program, and (4) Medicine, Health & Biomedical Science Program. Be original, and have the time of your life -- study abroad in Tasmania! See here: www.KnowledgeExchange.org

Study Abroad in China’s Capital – Beijing!
More people in the world speak Mandarin than any other language. You can too, by enrolling on KEI’s unique language immersion program – the Chinese Language, Culture, and Humanities Program, in Beijing. Or, take business courses in English on KEI’s Asian Business, Law, and Diplomacy Program, in the world’s most populated nation. The University of International Business and Economics is the highly respected host institution for both these programs. Beijing, home of the 2008 Olympics, is China’s beautiful capital city, busily modernizing yet retaining its imperial grandeur, with a history dating back 3000 years. See the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, Tibet and Xi’an (Silk Road) and numerous other fantastic sites during the included KEI excursions. Gilman Scholarships for Science, Math, Engineering Students
If you are a science, math, computer science, and/or engineering student and want to study abroad, there’s good news. The federally funded Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers a competition for awards for study abroad, for US citizen undergraduate students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at a 2-year or 4-year college or university. This congressionally funded program is offered through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and is administered by the Institute of International Education. The Gilman Scholarships aim to support students who have been traditionally underrepresented in study abroad, including students with high financial need and those in underrepresented fields such as the sciences and engineering. See here for more information: http://www.iie.org/programs/gilman/index.html

KEI Scholarships for Study Abroad
KEI offers scholarships between $200-$1,000 per term. The deadline to apply for scholarships for the Spring 2004 term is extended to November 30. To be considered a candidate, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), show leadership potential, be involved in extracurricular activities and show financial need. In choosing scholars, preference will be given to those who apply early and those applying for two or more semesters of study abroad.

Intern This Summer in the City that Never Sleeps – New York!
